EFFECTIVE WAYS TO WRITE A POEM

     Poetry is a piece of writing with rhythm, metrical quality and expression of intense feelings, ideas and emotions. According to Wordsworth, 'Poetry is spontaneous overflow of powerful emotions recollected in tranquility.' Poetry is an efficient way to share your thoughts alongside with your deepest emotion. Once you fall in love with poetry it is forever. There are more number of people indifferent towards poetry as compared to fiction. The main reason is the complexity of the form and the meaning it conveys. When a normal person read poems most of the time he finds it difficult to understand. Maybe the reader finds it unrelatable or due to complicated usages or play of words. Poems need to have figures of speech like similie, metaphor and poetic devices for the beautification of the work. People who are aware about these devices will enjoy the poem thoroughly. 
               Most of the time poets or poetry is born spontaneously. The poet has to have a clear idea about the theme. Incorporating rhymes makes it more interesting to read. There should be a continuity in thoughts. Nobody will punish if you rely on a dictionary or thesaurus. Avoid repetition of words or clichés. A poet must ensure when a reader goes through the poem his senses must be given a boost. If you are writing about nature, visualise nature in your head and explain the sounds, images, smell etc inorder to participate visually figurative or descriptive language. Think out of the box and exploit poetic license in a useful way. Try not to take a break from writing as it may lead to writer's block. Be confident in you work. Once you finish writing revise your poem many times. Polishing your work several times will help to present clear idea of thought conveyed. Share your poem and try to improve on the comment. 
               All the great poets have their good and bad pieces. No poet is born great. Write more and improve youself to flourish as a poet.
